We've only been here two weeks BUT

it's feeling like home. I cannot believe how quickly things are progressing here! We have found THE house with the perfect backyard and the perfect play nook off the kitchen and an amazing bonus room (that Kyle refers to as the bonus house ). We put in our offer and it was accepted within an hour. Whether it was luck or something called Southern Hospitality, we don't know. Thankfully we are scheduled to close on August 17th [That will certainly make for an amazing Anniversary Present!] Kyle is settling quickly into his job, the apartment is already become a mess and too small. But as usual, we make it work. Our routines are slowly falling into place. Connor and Emilee are adjusting. Connor has taken more time than expected to really understand it's a new house but the same routines. He is in love with going outside and to the pool at the apartment complex. We try to take him on a daily bike ride around the complex and he really loves it. And I am getting back to bei...

Welcome to Tennessee!

Seeing that Welcome sign on the interstate was both exciting and dreadful. Entering Tennessee was fantastic, but we still had to drive to the farthest corner of the state..... which was close to another 6-8 hours. The kids were decent on the long trip. Emilee was a bit fussy, Connor only made a potty stop twice with urgency and the Uhaul trailer only tried to kill us once. I call that a success. We truly couldn't have made the trip without them. Plus, with their impending deployment for year, it was a time well spent! We arrived on Tuesday and began house hunting on Wednesday. It was a L-O-N-G day but we made a few realizations about houses in the area and our expectations. Our house in Philadelphia was officially SOLD on Wednesday so we are no longer homeowners. We are proud renters! Philly was a giant learning experience and ...

This Roller Coaster Ride

I have posted before about the feeling before an evaluation. The best way to explain it is the feeling of being on a roller coaster. You stand in line, waiting and anticipating what the ride will be like. You get in your seat. put on your safety belt and wait for it to begin. Slowly you climb up the hill, climbing and climbing and climbing until you reach the point of no return. Then it's all downhill from there. At the end you climb out of your seat and think, "I don't think I will want to do that again any time soon." Until you see the next roller coaster opportunity and you're in line again. Today was the marathon of "roller coaster-ing". We had heard about CHOP's T-21 program from a pediatrician at our doctor's office. Then from there I decided to forget about it because I hadn't experienced CHOP's amazing care. Slowly I have switched over specialty care and finally took the plunge to getting her set up in the T-21 clinic. After wai...
