We've only been here two weeks BUT

it's feeling like home.

I cannot believe how quickly things are progressing here! We have found THE house with the perfect backyard and the perfect play nook off the kitchen and an amazing bonus room (that Kyle refers to as the bonus house). We put in our offer and it was accepted within an hour. Whether it was luck or something called Southern Hospitality, we don't know. Thankfully we are scheduled to close on August 17th [That will certainly make for an amazing Anniversary Present!]

Kyle is settling quickly into his job, the apartment is already become a mess and too small. But as usual, we make it work. Our routines are slowly falling into place.

Connor and Emilee are adjusting. Connor has taken more time than expected to really understand it's a new house but the same routines. He is in love with going outside and to the pool at the apartment complex. We try to take him on a daily bike ride around the complex and he really loves it.

And I am getting back to being the crazy, planning lady I was when we left Philly. I also am happy to say that I may be employed by the end of July! While I love being home with the kids, I felt there was a part of me that was slipping away and I really needed something to do to challenge myself- other than the strong willed children I have. I applied for a position at an Eating Disorder Treatment Facility, the only one for miles. Yesterday I received an email asking if I could talk on the phone. A thirty minute phone call and I have a meeting on Wednesday to see the facility and meet the director in person. My nursing assistant background combined with the psychology and social work education made me the "perfect candidate". It's a part time position so I would work Thursday, Friday and Saturday for a total of 22 hours a week (give or take). I really am grateful for the opportunity and am keeping my fingers crossed everything will work out.

We are exploring all options for child care while I work part time. It has been quite an interesting task. We love the idea of a babysitter and ironically have one lined up already. BUT I feel that both kids would benefit from going to a social setting, interacting with other kids and getting the things that I cannot offer at home like a decent pre-k education!

With all of that said we are excited about how things are moving and progressing. There was a fear that we would not get settled but, that is certainly the opposite that is happening. Connor's birthday is coming up this month and Emilee's next month. So we have compiled a list of things they would like or we think they would like.

Connor's list has been created by him with a "mommy note" at the end. Emilee's list is based on things we have noticed she enjoys playing with and things that she can grow into. Please do not feel that you need to send anything, but we do realize that kids are fun to buy for. We also will happily accept monetary gifts as they will be put towards the swing set for the backyard, any of the BIG items that aren't purchased off the lists and for memberships to local attractions (and their college accounts if that's your wish!). Here are the lists without pictures- If you would like the list WITH pictures, let me know!

Connor’s Birthday Wish list
Mommy note- Basically, Connor would be satisfied with anything that pertains to the following:
-       Miles from Tomorrowland
-       Paw Patrol
-       Ninja Turtles
-       Superhero (Spider man and Captain America are favorites)
-       Toys for the BIG Backyard
-       Books or movies
-       Credits for his Leapfrog (THIS)
-       Nerf Guns or water guns for outside
-       Anything a typical 4-year-old would like

PLEASE DO NOT ADD TO HIS COLLECTION OF:
-       Stuffed animals
-       Playdough
Art Supplies

Emilee’s Birthday Wish list

Dress up clothes and accessories- She loves hats, putting clothes on and taking them off—Basically, let your imagination run wild!

Play Kitchen with play food:

This Play Kitchen with any play food- We are being specific with the play kitchen because Emilee still pulls up on things. The plastic ones we are timid will tip over and not withstand the brutality of a two and four-year-old. If you would prefer to send some money to go towards the kitchen, we are okay with that too!

Balance bike
Chillafish Bunzi-  Can be purchased online at Amazon OR Toys R US in store (actually found it was cheaper at Toys R Us!)

Fisher Price Bubble Mower (pink)

Bubble Mower: Can be found at most retail stores as well!

As usual- we wish everyone the best unit the next post!

P.S. a sneak peak of the house:

"This should be interesting..."

After getting both kids to bed (before 8pm mind you!) I have finally had time to sit down and decompress. My morning started out with Emilee stirring in her crib around 4am. I quickly grabbed her and put her in our bed to fall back asleep as she normally does. She started stirring around again at 6am which was my cue to get out of bed and get dressed and ready to leave for her eye appointment. I woke up with that "this should be an interesting day" feeling and low and behold, it was. It was 6:55 when I realized that our wonderful sitter hadn't arrived yet. She is never late, even the one time she thought she was going to be late she was still five minutes early. So when she wasn't here at 7, my mind went crazy. Was she in an accident, had something happened with her family... the list went on with the craziness of Philly news. I sent a text at 7:05 and nothing. I finally switched from worried mom mode to get-in-the-damn-car mode to make the appointment on time. (I...

I am One Month!

Wow how time really flies! Things were so hectic at the end of the pregnancy that I realized I never kept you updated. Birth Story: Well, long story short on 22 July at 10am my water broke. I called L & D and they said to come on in to get monitored and to check the fluid levels etc. Kyle and I thought maybe we weren't really going to be admitted (you know maybe I had had an accident haha). We decided to do the trip to the hospital as a trial run. We got what was left of our bags packed, loaded up the car and stopped at Wendy's for some Chicken Nuggets. (I wanted to make sure I ate something in case I was really in labor and wouldn't get food for a while (Smart thinking on our part!).) So we arrive, they do some awesome monitoring and evaluation and sure enough there was a water leak! They said I would have 24 hours to deliver otherwise they would have to do a c-section. Well for those of you who are reading this and know me, I was scared of getting a c-section (as...

Weeks 23 and 24

Once again things got pretty busy and I did not update for week 23. This is mainly because my sister, brother in-law and nephew came for a visit! It was a great week full of food, Blue Angel Practice Show, Exploreum, putt putt golfing, some shopping and so much more! It was a great opportunity for Kyle and me to be tourists in the town we live in. All in all it was awesome to spend time with the family and show them around. 23 weeks was rather uneventful in terms of Connor. We did have a doctors appointment last Monday and the doctor wrote me a prescription for Nexium for the AWFUL acid reflux that I was having. Now I can enjoy food again without the terrible burning sensations. He also told us that the 20 week ultrasound showed a nice healthy baby with "no gross abnormalities". I could finally sigh in relief knowing that the ultrasound came back great. Now to actually see Connor and check for all 10 fingers and toes! Otherwise he is kicking and hitting up a storm. Kyle was...
