Once again things got pretty busy and I did not update for week 23. This is mainly because my sister, brother in-law and nephew came for a visit! It was a great week full of food, Blue Angel Practice Show, Exploreum, putt putt golfing, some shopping and so much more! It was a great opportunity for Kyle and me to be tourists in the town we live in. All in all it was awesome to spend time with the family and show them around.
23 weeks was rather uneventful in terms of Connor. We did have a doctors appointment last Monday and the doctor wrote me a prescription for Nexium for the AWFUL acid reflux that I was having. Now I can enjoy food again without the terrible burning sensations. He also told us that the 20 week ultrasound showed a nice healthy baby with "no gross abnormalities". I could finally sigh in relief knowing that the ultrasound came back great. Now to actually see Connor and check for all 10 fingers and toes! Otherwise he is kicking and hitting up a storm. Kyle was able to feel Connor kick and punch. They were playing a game the other night where Kyle would tap on my belly and Connor would kick him back pretty hard.
Today is the 24 week mark. 6 months down! Other than feeling pretty good, the humidity and heat have taken my swelling to a level that I cannot wear my engagement ring or wedding band. I was super sad about this simply because I have not taken either of those off since I got them. But they are safely stored until they fit again and I am wearing a diamond band that we got on a trip to St.Thomas. Let's see.... my belly is growing I think, but I feel like it still looks so tiny compared to a bunch of other pregnant woman at 24 weeks. It has become more round though so it looks less like a beer gut and more like a pregnany belly. One of the kids at work didn't really believe that there was a baby in there. So she poked my belly and said "Yup... there is a baby in there!" I guess because it's a hard belly and not a flubber belly any more. The kids ask me all the time if I am going to name him "justin Bieber" or what if the baby comes out a girl, what will I name it then. The things kids come up with!! Sleeping has become somewhat uncomfortable. When I lay down to go to bed I start getting this pain in my hip that extends to my foot. Of course I jump right to the conclusion it's a blood clot but I have zero other symptoms of a blood clot lol. I finally have settled on the idea that Connor curls up on a nerve at night which causes the pain.
Other than that, nothing new on this front. We were able to get most of the nursery done two weekends ago and now we are waiting to figure out the wall art. Then we have to wait until July for this little guy! I think for the most part that is all! This is probably my favorite picture so far from the pregnancy (mainly because Kyle is in it with us!) This was taken at 23 weeks at the Beach.
