Finally Friday!

Let me start off my apologizing for my annoying complaints on Facebook this week. It was a week when everything that could go wrong, in one way or another, did. Between the heat, fire hydrant and just plain exhaustion it seemed like the world was against us (total exaggeration).  Let's begin with a normal Monday, followed by a freezing Tuesday, expensive Wednesday, better Thursday and hopefully a GREAT Friday! And of course all of the ironic happenings in between. For example, we had the limit switch fixed on the furnace and I get the mail to find a Handy Man magazine with how to service and fix your furnace. Thanks God for laughing in our face... But as bad as the week has seemed we have become stronger, slightly sick but stronger. The friends in Philadelphia have been amazing with offering everything from hanging out at their homes to staying overnight so we could be warm. Of course I am stubborn and refuse. Why?? Because in my sick twisted mind we have to deal with what we are h...

Boy is it a Monday?!

You know the feeling, the alarm clock goes off at 515, you realize it is Monday, groan and roll back over praying the alarm clock will just Go Back To Sleep! Then the realization that the alarm clock is really your child who WON'T just go back to sleep hits you and you groan LOUDER in hopes your husband will crawl out of bed but remember IT IS Monday so he will be going to work and lunches and coffee must be made, breakfast organized and finally thinking about all of this makes you sigh and crawl out of bed, Shuffle to the bathroom where the god awful bright light hits you harder than the morning wake up call.  That's the beginning of my Monday.  After attempting a cup of watered down coffee, subsequent of my attempts to clean the coffee maker, I organized a crappy breakfast and threw tuna into the lunch box. And then I crashed I to the couch for an hour of a movie that C paid zero attention to. All the while Kyle got ready for work and realized our sink had fallen from the co...

Brrrrr!

What. Was. I. Thinking?!?!? Holy moly it is cold. All. Over. The . US. 49 out of 50 states are literally at or below freezing temperatures. Is this what the dinosaurs felt like during the Ice Age? Thankfully, it will warm up by the weekend but I am refusing to go outdoors until these temps hit at least 32 degrees. In philly the temps are supposed to feel like -22 with windchill. That is just wrong. It's so cold the zoos actually brought in the polar bears! I'm just lucky enough I don't HAVE to go outside. The only perk to all of this is how nicely my wedding ring fit. Nice and loose and comfortable. Haha.... We have to find perks where they exist. It has been almost a week since 2014 hit and so far it's been successful. We have been organizing and cleaning out for a more productive year. The office/playroom is almost organized (once a bookshelf gets hung and my desk organizer from amazon shows up. Which the crazy weather has delayed now almost 2 days.) Connor has his ne...

2014 Resolutions!

January 1st every year I try to make a list of resolutions. Most years they get posted somewhere and forgotten by February 1st. And I have come to realize it is simply because I try to make the same resolutions and just give up. Like, exercise. Really every year I say "I will exercise more often" and every year I work out for 3 days and call it done. So my list this year is as follows: 1. Be healthier. Not so much exercise but make better choices in eating and drinking. Take vitamins again and overall decrease stress and manage it better.  2. Be present. I have a habit, and I'm doing it right now, to sit down on the couch and get on my phone or computer. This year I want to disconnect more often and be present with my family. These are the moments that I want to remember, my computer can wait until nap time or a designated time in  the evening. 3. Reconnect with my husband. The best piece of advice my grandfather in law gave us was to have a date night at least once a mon...
