Goodbye 2nd Trimester... Hello 3rd Trimester!

So as usual I have fallen behind in my blog posting. Well not much has really happened in these last couple of weeks. Well other than the growing baby in my belly! Let's see, the recent doctor's appontments have gone fine. I passed my glucose test with "Flying colors" and I do not have anemia during this pregnancy (I am just tired because Connor is stealing my energy.) I feel Connor kicking and punching and moving around so much these last few weeks. At times Kyle said it looks as if Connor is playing the Congo Drums in my belly.

Hmmmm.... Oh recent cravings, Root Beer again. I drove to Sonic 2 times last week just to get a Root Beer with some awesome crushed ice. I also started experiencing Braxton Hicks. Whooooo. Not fun. I freaked out for a while because I thought that something was wrong. Nope. Doctor said that is totally normal and that I will likely experience them more now that I am in my 3rd Trimester. Yipee. At least my body is getting ready for the "big day". On a side note my weight gain... yeah I give in to those cravings... well I am already measuring a week ahead so he is thinking that either the baby is going to be a little bigger OR I might have higher amount of amniotic fluid OR I might get to meet this little guy a little sooner than 12 more weeks. Who knows and we won't know until what seems like forever.

We did go to an Alan Jackson concert- something on my bucket list for the last, oh 20 years. My grandfather was a HUGE Alan Jackson fan. I grew up knowing the words to all of his songs and shamelessly singing along to his lyrics. When I was old enough to go to concerts my grandfather and I would talk about going to see Alan Jackson together. When he passed away I took those cassette tapes from his truck and still have them packed safely away. Even though I have nowhere to play them I will keep them for their memories. As soon as Alan walked onto that stage tears streamed down my face. I know that even though he wasn't with me in bodily form, my grandfather was there in spirit. Of course the pregnancy hormones didn't help any while I sat bawling through the first 4 songs, but you know you have a great husband when he sits there holding your hand and doesn't laugh or wonder what is going on. He just KNOWS. It was an awesome concert and I know Connor loved it as well- he danced through most of the songs! Alan Jackson's music is one thing that will be passed down to him because I know it's something that my grandfather would have done.

We have a lot going on in the next few weeks/months. Only another 3 weeks of school here and my swollen feet are praising the lord. June 1st is the end of the school year and the end of my working until we move to our next location. I was investigating some child care in the area trying to figure out if it would be beneficial for me to work and the amount I would make would just cover the daycare costs. So as of June 1st I will be a stay at home mom- surprisingly something I never thought I would say. However, during those days, after a routine and a new sense of normalcy has been reached, I will take my GRE's and start applying to graduate schools so that I can get back to my career goals and back to work!

So in June, Kyle and I are also expecting a lovely visitor... Ms. Meredith Sefcik! We are pumped for her visit at the latter part of June. She also has agreed to take some maternity pictures for us so stay tuned for pictures of the beached whale- actually Kyle says that as long as I don't fall down and roll around on the beach then I don't look like a whale. Yeah he loves me, huh?

Then comes a month long trip for Kyle which I am sure will be anxiety provoking for the both of us wondering when this guy will want to make his appearance. Sometime in July my mom and sister will be arriving and HOPEFULLY Connor will arrive. Followed by the arrival of Kyle's parents and hopefully some newborn photos by Rick.

It seems so unreal that in about 3 months there will be one more added to our family. You carry around someone for 9 months and at some point it hits you that they have to come out eventually! Kyle and I are beyond excited and ready for this guy to get here as I am sure you all are too!

Alrighty- this is already long enough and I am sure that you are bored of reading. So I will end this long blog here. I figured a little photo session would be nice... so here are some pictures.

"This should be interesting..."

After getting both kids to bed (before 8pm mind you!) I have finally had time to sit down and decompress. My morning started out with Emilee stirring in her crib around 4am. I quickly grabbed her and put her in our bed to fall back asleep as she normally does. She started stirring around again at 6am which was my cue to get out of bed and get dressed and ready to leave for her eye appointment. I woke up with that "this should be an interesting day" feeling and low and behold, it was. It was 6:55 when I realized that our wonderful sitter hadn't arrived yet. She is never late, even the one time she thought she was going to be late she was still five minutes early. So when she wasn't here at 7, my mind went crazy. Was she in an accident, had something happened with her family... the list went on with the craziness of Philly news. I sent a text at 7:05 and nothing. I finally switched from worried mom mode to get-in-the-damn-car mode to make the appointment on time. (I...

I am One Month!

Wow how time really flies! Things were so hectic at the end of the pregnancy that I realized I never kept you updated. Birth Story: Well, long story short on 22 July at 10am my water broke. I called L & D and they said to come on in to get monitored and to check the fluid levels etc. Kyle and I thought maybe we weren't really going to be admitted (you know maybe I had had an accident haha). We decided to do the trip to the hospital as a trial run. We got what was left of our bags packed, loaded up the car and stopped at Wendy's for some Chicken Nuggets. (I wanted to make sure I ate something in case I was really in labor and wouldn't get food for a while (Smart thinking on our part!).) So we arrive, they do some awesome monitoring and evaluation and sure enough there was a water leak! They said I would have 24 hours to deliver otherwise they would have to do a c-section. Well for those of you who are reading this and know me, I was scared of getting a c-section (as...

Weeks 23 and 24

Once again things got pretty busy and I did not update for week 23. This is mainly because my sister, brother in-law and nephew came for a visit! It was a great week full of food, Blue Angel Practice Show, Exploreum, putt putt golfing, some shopping and so much more! It was a great opportunity for Kyle and me to be tourists in the town we live in. All in all it was awesome to spend time with the family and show them around. 23 weeks was rather uneventful in terms of Connor. We did have a doctors appointment last Monday and the doctor wrote me a prescription for Nexium for the AWFUL acid reflux that I was having. Now I can enjoy food again without the terrible burning sensations. He also told us that the 20 week ultrasound showed a nice healthy baby with "no gross abnormalities". I could finally sigh in relief knowing that the ultrasound came back great. Now to actually see Connor and check for all 10 fingers and toes! Otherwise he is kicking and hitting up a storm. Kyle was...
