Connor can.....

Let me see... obviously life has been slightly busy which is why I haven't updated like I said I would. We are still awaiting our orders to whichever destination awaits us. It is making us anxious just because we WANT TO KNOW so we can begin the planning process; locating places to live, schools to attend (online or "brick and mortar- more on that in a little), doctors and vets... ugh. You have to love PCS time!

While we wait for word from the detailer we are busy with the crazy 7 month old! I know, where did the time go? 7 months ago we had the cutest ( in our opinion), sweetest, STATIONARY newborn. Yeah, other than cuteness, it's all gone! Diaper changes have gone to squirming everywhere, trying to crawl away and screaming at you when you finally get the diaper on. Baths have actually become quite fun. We have this awesome inflatable ducky, our old tub got wayyyy too small- wayyy too quick! A few tub toys and viola! We have a blast! Then there is bedtime and naptime which is a struggle still. We tried the whole sleep training but with teething it's just not working. We do what we have to to get him to sleep and pray we have a good night. Normally, we wake up at 11, 3, and up at 530 for the day. Then, nights like last night, 9, 11, 12, 1, 2, 3, up at 430 for the day. We figure that we can sleep when he is 18!

Now the milestones......
Connor can:
- Sit up unassisted and stay sitting for a very LONG time
- Army crawl better than most soldiers
- Scream "DADA" at the top of his lungs... but not "MAMA"
- Look like Mowgli from The Jungle Book
- Crawl on all 4's (newest accomplishment)
- FInd his toy pile and make the world's largest mess.... but hasn't figured out how to put them back
- Outeat mommy in the oatmeal department
- Supplies the dog with plently of puffs
- Eat chunks of Sweet Potatoes, Apples, and Pears
- Pick up the strangest things with his tiny fingers and find his mouth quicker than we can grab it out of his hands- Dog hair seems to be a delicacy to him.
- Walk forward, backward and to the side in his walker, thankfully he hasn't tried mastering the stairs yet

Every day seems to be a new adventure and I am beyond honored to spend my days (as stressful as they can be) exploring the world with him. He also has those two bottom teeth that are showing through ever so white. And he tries to pull himself up on things but hasn't quite figured out how to master that- soon, I am betting, that will occur. We also attend a few play group sessions. I love being able to give Connor some interaction with other kids. This last play group we went to breakfast. Two of the little boys (11 months and 13 months old) were eating their breakfast and Connor was just staring. Well one offered the other some of his puffs (it was too cute). Later that day we were home and Connor picked up his toy and handed it to Rango, Rango sniffed it and Connor pulled it back and giggled. I think we have a troublemaker on our hands!

Okay on to Kyle and I. Not much new, we are waiting on our orders, as I keep saying (maybe if I keep saying it, it may come true)! We are getting ready to have our first yard sale- thanks to my parents for all the experience in that department, I feel beyond ready to get this show on the road! I am currently looking into some online programs for a master's degree. Actually I could start this Thursday if I really wanted to LOL. I found a college that is entirely online except for the practicum (experience in the field). Although it is not in School Counseling, it is much broader in Professional counseling. I would graduate with the ability to be certified and open my own counseling center if I wanted. Instead, (if I go that route) I plan on going straight into a PhD prorgram. The great thing is if I went the online route I would be finished at exactly the end of our next tour allowing me to go get my PhD at the NEXT tour. But of course, this is all conditional. If we get a place with options for schooling I will be attending the physical campus, but I have this back-up plan for places without the schools I want to attend. Enough about me. :-). Kyle is doing the whole working thing. Their big trip was cancelled due to some broken parts on the boat so we were stuck with him most of the month instead (hehe). A few more underway trips and we will be home free to the next station.

I believe that is about all on our end. Just keeping things moving along and ourselves busy. The stinkmonster is awake and moving so no photos this week... Check facebook ;-).

"This should be interesting..."

After getting both kids to bed (before 8pm mind you!) I have finally had time to sit down and decompress. My morning started out with Emilee stirring in her crib around 4am. I quickly grabbed her and put her in our bed to fall back asleep as she normally does. She started stirring around again at 6am which was my cue to get out of bed and get dressed and ready to leave for her eye appointment. I woke up with that "this should be an interesting day" feeling and low and behold, it was. It was 6:55 when I realized that our wonderful sitter hadn't arrived yet. She is never late, even the one time she thought she was going to be late she was still five minutes early. So when she wasn't here at 7, my mind went crazy. Was she in an accident, had something happened with her family... the list went on with the craziness of Philly news. I sent a text at 7:05 and nothing. I finally switched from worried mom mode to get-in-the-damn-car mode to make the appointment on time. (I...

I am One Month!

Wow how time really flies! Things were so hectic at the end of the pregnancy that I realized I never kept you updated. Birth Story: Well, long story short on 22 July at 10am my water broke. I called L & D and they said to come on in to get monitored and to check the fluid levels etc. Kyle and I thought maybe we weren't really going to be admitted (you know maybe I had had an accident haha). We decided to do the trip to the hospital as a trial run. We got what was left of our bags packed, loaded up the car and stopped at Wendy's for some Chicken Nuggets. (I wanted to make sure I ate something in case I was really in labor and wouldn't get food for a while (Smart thinking on our part!).) So we arrive, they do some awesome monitoring and evaluation and sure enough there was a water leak! They said I would have 24 hours to deliver otherwise they would have to do a c-section. Well for those of you who are reading this and know me, I was scared of getting a c-section (as...

Weeks 23 and 24

Once again things got pretty busy and I did not update for week 23. This is mainly because my sister, brother in-law and nephew came for a visit! It was a great week full of food, Blue Angel Practice Show, Exploreum, putt putt golfing, some shopping and so much more! It was a great opportunity for Kyle and me to be tourists in the town we live in. All in all it was awesome to spend time with the family and show them around. 23 weeks was rather uneventful in terms of Connor. We did have a doctors appointment last Monday and the doctor wrote me a prescription for Nexium for the AWFUL acid reflux that I was having. Now I can enjoy food again without the terrible burning sensations. He also told us that the 20 week ultrasound showed a nice healthy baby with "no gross abnormalities". I could finally sigh in relief knowing that the ultrasound came back great. Now to actually see Connor and check for all 10 fingers and toes! Otherwise he is kicking and hitting up a storm. Kyle was...
