Can someone grant me an extra hour or two in the day, please?

So it seems that I have yet to post an update from our awaiting the news of our new duty station.

Well, if you haven't found out, hello Philadelphia! What a dream come true.... in most areas. HA.

Quick update from the last few months:

April- We began the process known as house hunting. We spent a weekend in Philly looking for a place to buy. We decided home ownership was a great option since we have a dog (security deposits and pet fees were astronomically high) and since we could live here for up to 5 years. Anyways, we found a house we fell in love with in South Philly. I wasn't expecting it, I definitely was more "let's find a place with a big yard and a driveway". But this MADE the most sense (I will get to that later, maybe). There is great park about a half block down that Connor plays in and Rango walks in. We are close to so many fantastic destinations NY, Lancaster, MD, NJ, ect. Anyways, we worked throughout April on coming to a settlement agreement with the seller. Not as awesome as House Hunters makes it! It is stressful and annoying. End of month.

May- May was a complete and total blur. Connor and I spent most of the time packing, organzing and preparing to move to Maryland. We settled on house on the 28th. And spent the rest of the month in Philly painting and prepping for our move.

June- Kyle went back to Florida and Connor and I stayed in MD with family. The month was long, but it made the most sense since Kyle was going to be out on the boat for a good portion of the month. Connor and I got to hang out with everyone and make up for some lost time. We had some fun little instances: like our first trip to the ER for Connor and some snake issues. Altogether it was a productive month. My dad was very helpful in prepping the house in Philly. We made it up almost every weekend to paint (and the paint looks fantastic)!

July-  Well it started out pretty crappy. The movers were supposed to deliver on the 5th of July. BUT, we received information that they really didn't know when they would be delivering and they would call us a couple hours before delivery. Yeah that was not cool. So Connor and I came up on the 2nd and spent the night. Luckily they delivered on the 3rd. They unloaded fast and everything made it. Some things are questionable about their condition but whatever, it's here and I was estatic. Plus on the 3rd Kyle was due to come to the area. He drove straight to Philly and got here around midnight. The 4th was fantastic considering it was the first 4th of July in 4 years we were able to spend together. We did the mile long yard sale and the fireworks at the Williamsport park. Connor loved the fireworks. We went back to Philly and spent the next couple days organizing and arranging the house. Kyle reported in on the 15th. Then we had Connor's first birthday and his party. And a housewarming party. Phew. Busy.

August- Another blur of a month. we were working on settling down still, exploring the area, doing small projects. Holly came up for a visit, we have been spending time with friends.

September- Kyle and I had our birthdays- 24 years OLD lol. We have been trying to get things in order with the house for winter. Obviously not being previous homeowners AND being in Fl for 2 years doesn't help with winterizing. We are getting new doors and frames done for the front and back door in October. I will have my awesome blue door on the front of the house and I am pumped! Let me see, Connor met curious george. Not an awesome experience. There were tears and screams and NOT of joy. The rest of the month we are spending the weekends with friends and maybe some apple/ pumpkin picking and trips to the zoo.

Yeah, things are insane on our end.

Kyle is working M-F and typically has off on the weekends. He is going to be starting up the schools again soon but for the most part they are shorter than his underway trips.

I am currently working on my Real Estate License. Once completed I have a job lined up in Center City (I also can work from home with it). I had a meeting the other day and felt grown up in my business clothes HAHA. Then I went to a doctor for this nasty allergy/cold I have had and those silly receptionists thought I was a drug rep and didn't call me up for my appointment because of it. I sat there for 15 minutes. I am also looking at other employment opportunities in the Psych field. We will see what happens.

Connor.... at almost 14 months old (in 2 days) he is quite the ham. Walking, running, jumping, talking. You name it he is doing it. On the 18th he put his first sentence together: "CAT GET DOWN!". He had been snuggled on the couch with daddy and saw Banditt on the stairs. He gives her this stern look and yells "Cat GET Down!" Priceless. I about peed myself laughing. He is so funny and always making mommy and daddy laugh. Stubborn and hardheaded, but hey, what comes around goes around. He is an amazing little boy though and so smart! His new thing is to open the door in the bathroom while you are in there. OR to open it up and run in and throw things in the toilet. Fun stuff.

That is really about it. I will now photo bomb the heck out of this page. I will TRY to update again soon. October is a CRAZY month for us with weddings and birthdays and visitors but I will do my best to post something!

First time to the Philly Zoo- using our awesome membership!

"This should be interesting..."

After getting both kids to bed (before 8pm mind you!) I have finally had time to sit down and decompress. My morning started out with Emilee stirring in her crib around 4am. I quickly grabbed her and put her in our bed to fall back asleep as she normally does. She started stirring around again at 6am which was my cue to get out of bed and get dressed and ready to leave for her eye appointment. I woke up with that "this should be an interesting day" feeling and low and behold, it was. It was 6:55 when I realized that our wonderful sitter hadn't arrived yet. She is never late, even the one time she thought she was going to be late she was still five minutes early. So when she wasn't here at 7, my mind went crazy. Was she in an accident, had something happened with her family... the list went on with the craziness of Philly news. I sent a text at 7:05 and nothing. I finally switched from worried mom mode to get-in-the-damn-car mode to make the appointment on time. (I...

I am One Month!

Wow how time really flies! Things were so hectic at the end of the pregnancy that I realized I never kept you updated. Birth Story: Well, long story short on 22 July at 10am my water broke. I called L & D and they said to come on in to get monitored and to check the fluid levels etc. Kyle and I thought maybe we weren't really going to be admitted (you know maybe I had had an accident haha). We decided to do the trip to the hospital as a trial run. We got what was left of our bags packed, loaded up the car and stopped at Wendy's for some Chicken Nuggets. (I wanted to make sure I ate something in case I was really in labor and wouldn't get food for a while (Smart thinking on our part!).) So we arrive, they do some awesome monitoring and evaluation and sure enough there was a water leak! They said I would have 24 hours to deliver otherwise they would have to do a c-section. Well for those of you who are reading this and know me, I was scared of getting a c-section (as...

Weeks 23 and 24

Once again things got pretty busy and I did not update for week 23. This is mainly because my sister, brother in-law and nephew came for a visit! It was a great week full of food, Blue Angel Practice Show, Exploreum, putt putt golfing, some shopping and so much more! It was a great opportunity for Kyle and me to be tourists in the town we live in. All in all it was awesome to spend time with the family and show them around. 23 weeks was rather uneventful in terms of Connor. We did have a doctors appointment last Monday and the doctor wrote me a prescription for Nexium for the AWFUL acid reflux that I was having. Now I can enjoy food again without the terrible burning sensations. He also told us that the 20 week ultrasound showed a nice healthy baby with "no gross abnormalities". I could finally sigh in relief knowing that the ultrasound came back great. Now to actually see Connor and check for all 10 fingers and toes! Otherwise he is kicking and hitting up a storm. Kyle was...
