Shenanigans

I will preface this with: I need a nap.

Now on to the regularly scheduled blog post.

5 a.m., 5:45 a.m.-- no matter how many numbers or the combination of numbers after the 5, it's all the same and quite frankly I would LOVE to wake up and not see the 5 on my clock. Connor on the other hand must really looooovee seeing this number as it seems to be the only hour worth waking up in for the past 4 days. And this mama is getting tired.

Between the charley horse's in my leg, the constant tossing and turning and just plain being hot all... the... time; I am over pregnancy. But there remains at least 14 weeks (give or take) of the pregnancy bliss we ALL feel. Yeah, like going to the dentist. We all love having white, straight teeth but only a handful have a pleasant experience at the dentist. Having a toddler and being pregnant is like having the dentist and the hygienist both with their hands in your mouth AND asking you to tell your life story. A challenge. As I type this my child is screaming from his bedroom because he just doesn't want to take another F***** nap. Well, sweet, stubborn pain in the behind, you won't be coming out of that room until you do take a nap because I refuse to deal with the hitting and screaming tantrums that you blessed the entire Little Monster's class with this morning. Tough luck.

As you can imply from my very sarcastic and quite frank paragraph this mama woke up on the wrong side of the bed. At too early of a time.

****20 minutes intermission while I go to try and persuade C to take a nap*****

This post will be short simply because I cannot get that toddler to nap no matter what tactics I am currently trying.

This past week was hectic to say the least.

Friday- Yaya and Grandad came for a visit. Kyle and I went to a Phillies game that lasted 14 innings and well past midnight.

Saturday- International Philadelphia Beer Fest- lots of beer, sunshine and me as the DD while Yaya watched C. I think the guys had fun,  I enjoyed the food.

Sunday- C, Yaya and I went to do some Strawberry and Rhubarb picking. Kyle and Grandad brewed some beer. Grandad went home.

Monday- I had my 26 week check-up. Things look fine and apparently I am gaining weight adequately. HA. Yaya watched C while I went, then we left to drive to Maryland. That evening we had dinner with my parents.

Tuesday- I vacuumed and washed the cookie mobile. Spent the afternoon relaxing and playing and then in the evening attended my Little Sister's Graduation. A long, hot ceremony later we decided to go to Friendly's for some Ice Cream. Finally pulled my covers over for a long night sleep at 1130.

Wednesday- We got up, ate some breakfast and drove home to see daddy.

Thursday- I had a dermatologist appointment (lectures about sunscreen yipee, but otherwise fantastic mole check). Little Monster's class and now we aren't leaving the house for the rest of the day. Okay maybe I will just because I need to get some potting soil for my tomato plants ha! Maybe tomorrow.

Like I said. It's been a busy week and I am feeling quite exhausted. I would love to be napping right now but chances are very high that a nap isn't going to happen for either of us. Thankfully, or not, Kyle has a later afternoon inspection which means he will be getting home late and won't have to put up with any of today's shenanigans.

Here are a few pictures to keep you entertained.

Congratulations to Holly and Best wishes for your next adventure in the MSP Cadet Program!
And until next week... a hopefully much better blog post from a more energetic mama!

"This should be interesting..."

After getting both kids to bed (before 8pm mind you!) I have finally had time to sit down and decompress. My morning started out with Emilee stirring in her crib around 4am. I quickly grabbed her and put her in our bed to fall back asleep as she normally does. She started stirring around again at 6am which was my cue to get out of bed and get dressed and ready to leave for her eye appointment. I woke up with that "this should be an interesting day" feeling and low and behold, it was. It was 6:55 when I realized that our wonderful sitter hadn't arrived yet. She is never late, even the one time she thought she was going to be late she was still five minutes early. So when she wasn't here at 7, my mind went crazy. Was she in an accident, had something happened with her family... the list went on with the craziness of Philly news. I sent a text at 7:05 and nothing. I finally switched from worried mom mode to get-in-the-damn-car mode to make the appointment on time. (I...

I am One Month!

Wow how time really flies! Things were so hectic at the end of the pregnancy that I realized I never kept you updated. Birth Story: Well, long story short on 22 July at 10am my water broke. I called L & D and they said to come on in to get monitored and to check the fluid levels etc. Kyle and I thought maybe we weren't really going to be admitted (you know maybe I had had an accident haha). We decided to do the trip to the hospital as a trial run. We got what was left of our bags packed, loaded up the car and stopped at Wendy's for some Chicken Nuggets. (I wanted to make sure I ate something in case I was really in labor and wouldn't get food for a while (Smart thinking on our part!).) So we arrive, they do some awesome monitoring and evaluation and sure enough there was a water leak! They said I would have 24 hours to deliver otherwise they would have to do a c-section. Well for those of you who are reading this and know me, I was scared of getting a c-section (as...

Weeks 23 and 24

Once again things got pretty busy and I did not update for week 23. This is mainly because my sister, brother in-law and nephew came for a visit! It was a great week full of food, Blue Angel Practice Show, Exploreum, putt putt golfing, some shopping and so much more! It was a great opportunity for Kyle and me to be tourists in the town we live in. All in all it was awesome to spend time with the family and show them around. 23 weeks was rather uneventful in terms of Connor. We did have a doctors appointment last Monday and the doctor wrote me a prescription for Nexium for the AWFUL acid reflux that I was having. Now I can enjoy food again without the terrible burning sensations. He also told us that the 20 week ultrasound showed a nice healthy baby with "no gross abnormalities". I could finally sigh in relief knowing that the ultrasound came back great. Now to actually see Connor and check for all 10 fingers and toes! Otherwise he is kicking and hitting up a storm. Kyle was...
