Most of my blog posts focus on Emilee and our accomplishments or milestones.... but what I have come to realize is that I don't focus on the attention crazed two year old.
CONNOR***
This little-- err big boy is bundle of energy, sass and comedy bundled into one body. He can ignore you one second and be on your lap giving you a hug and a kiss the next. I can barely keep up with him as he climbs on the playground (and generally anytime he talks to me).
Over the last few months he has taken such leaps and bounds in his physical and emotional development. He knows what it means to be sad and SO HAPPY!. He can run and jump and bounce and somehow do all three at once. He has figured out how to manipulate mommy and daddy to get what he wants and at the same time to be so sweet about getting what he wants.
He is an amazing older brother. From the little things like handing back her ball that ended up halfway across the room to singing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" when she is screaming at the top of her lungs. Granted, his singing is screaming the song right back at her, it's still the thought that counts..... right?? He is gentle (most of the time) and helpful (all of the time). Somehow it's like he was meant to be a big brother.
He is a leader.
He is a follower.
He is caring.
He is selfish.
He is two.
He is working on finding his way in this family and in this world. So we figured we would help him in exploring his options (aka.... this kid needs an outlet for his energy).
Enter.... Soccer Shots!
On June 22nd at 4:45 I will become a soccer mom. [no there is no mini-van included]. For four days straight that week he will attend a class on how to play soccer.... [read for four days straight he will fall asleep easily and hopefully sleep in!]
If that goes well, then beginning July 9th thru August 13th, every Thursday at 4:45 he will attend a soccer class.
We want to foster his independence but also his ability to be a team player. We want to help him be confident in himself... let's be honest he already is. We want him to find a group of friends and learn how to interact with other kids.... dare I say kids who aren't his sister??
I cannot say how he will do. All I can say is I think this is the makings of an All-star!
