Christmas 2013

What a fantastic three days we have had. Very busy but altogether a truly great holiday. Christmas Eve we travelled over the Delaware River to The Adventure Aquarium. It was Connors first time at the Aquarium and he had a blast! Sharks, penguins, fish, alligators, and even a Scuba Santa! We went right after his nap and stayed for THREE hours! We had a great time and have so many great pictures. Be sure to check out our Facebook page early next week! On e we were finished at the aquarium we came home to find Santa's elf Henry had left Connor a surprise! A pair of pajamas and a new Christmas movie were hanging from our ceiling fan!!! After a delicious dinner (ham, mashed potatoes, and green beans) we read "The Night Before Christmas" and off to bed he went! Mommy and daddy did some final preparations and packing for our trip to Maryland and then settled into bed.  At 515am on Christmas morning Connor woke up and Daddy and Mommy were so excited to see what Santa brought Him!...

Countdown to Christmas.... 8 days!

Ahhhhh! Where has the month gone?!!! Between going to Maryland and Kyle being in Virginia, this month has flown by. But I am happy to report we are all back to working condition. Connor is feeling all better and is back to his devilish self. We have been working hard on getting presents finished and baking, craft making and cleaning. Connor sincerely enjoys the act of mixing and eating cookies, mostly before they are baked. And we recently made no-bake cookies which were a huge hit! He would walk up to Daddy and put his hand out requesting one any time daddy had one. He has been busy making his Grandma and Pappy and Yaya and Grandad a special present this year. Yesterday went over a little better than this morning. But not to worry, we are working hard on making them perfect !! Kyle is coming home on Friday and Connor and I are beyond excited to see him. This past weekend was so nice to just cuddle on the couch and watch Christmas movies. Connor cuddled with his daddy quite a bit- ...

Oh Christmas Tree....

Well the holiday's are fully among us and only 13 days until Christmas! I am very excited for the holiday this year as we will finally be able to enjoy a Christmas at HOME and back in Maryland. Quick update while I am on here.... 1. Connor is officially in a toddler bed. We have tried numerous times to transition him because of his crazy climbing abilities but it just wouldn't work. So I seeked the assitance of Mr. Google on what to do. They suggested purchasing a toddler bed and leave the crib still in the room for a while to remind him that indeed it is his room. WHOOO! It worked. He has been sleeping like a big boy for over a week now. Plus he safely climbs from bed to play with toys while mommy gets a few extra Zzzz's! 2. Connor had his first bad bout of illness. Not just a cold but a fever reaching 103.1 and 3 sleepless nights. He is finally feeling better but still has a slight cough and occasional mild fever. High hopes he will be all better by the time Christmas...

And so it begins!

Spooky witches, little devils and crazy dinosaurs! Connor's second Halloween was quite interesting. We decided that going to Sesame Place was a great idea. He hadn't really watched Sesame Street except for once or twice so it was kind of a new concept. Thankfully Sesame Place partners with Sea World and other locations to give military families free tickets once a year. Connor rode his first ride with Daddy. He looked both excited and petrified all at once! He got his photo taken with Elmo and the Count and participated in the different themed mazes and trick or treat path they put up. All in all it was a very tiring day for all involved. On the actual Halloween night we planned on staying in and handing out candy to any city kids that came our way. But thankfully, one of Kyle's coworkers asked us to come over and go trick or treating with their 2 year old. Connor did so great! He was very skeptical at first but soon he understood that you went up to people and pick out y...

OH the joys of Fall....

Other than our succession of being sick for almost a month, I believe the Reese Family is on the mend! I am not sure if it is the constant schizophrenic weather or our move back to 4 seasons, but we have ALL been sick. (And I say ALL becuase even Kyle "the invincible" missed 1.5 days of work because of "the Plague".) However, our nasty coughs, runny noses, and exhaustion did not keep us from going to Johnson's Farm  in Medford, N.J. for a hayride, apple picking and pumpkin picking. And then the following day a visit to Lancaster and the Renaissance Faire. Johnson's Farm What a fun family trip!! We thought this year since Connor was older, we could actuallya go to a place and let him pick his own pumpkin. And since apples are in season and we have an "apple monster" why not pick a few of those too. When we pulled up to the place it was packed with kids and adults, pumpkins and apples. It was the exact description of "FALL"(except for...

Can someone grant me an extra hour or two in the day, please?

So it seems that I have yet to post an update from our awaiting the news of our new duty station. Well, if you haven't found out, hello Philadelphia!  What a dream come true.... in most areas. HA. Quick update from the last few months: April- We began the process known as house hunting. We spent a weekend in Philly looking for a place to buy. We decided home ownership was a great option since we have a dog (security deposits and pet fees were astronomically high) and since we could live here for up to 5 years. Anyways, we found a house we fell in love with in South Philly. I wasn't expecting it, I definitely was more "let's find a place with a big yard and a driveway". But this MADE the most sense (I will get to that later, maybe). There is great park about a half block down that Connor plays in and Rango walks in. We are close to so many fantastic destinations NY, Lancaster, MD, NJ, ect. Anyways, we worked throughout April on coming to a settlement agreemen...

Connor can.....

Let me see... obviously life has been slightly busy which is why I haven't updated like I said I would. We are still awaiting our orders to whichever destination awaits us. It is making us anxious just because we WANT TO KNOW so we can begin the planning process; locating places to live, schools to attend (online or "brick and mortar- more on that in a little), doctors and vets... ugh. You have to love PCS time! While we wait for word from the detailer we are busy with the crazy 7 month old! I know, where did the time go? 7 months ago we had the cutest ( in our opinion), sweetest, STATIONARY newborn. Yeah, other than cuteness, it's all gone! Diaper changes have gone to squirming everywhere, trying to crawl away and screaming at you when you finally get the diaper on. Baths have actually become quite fun. We have this awesome inflatable ducky, our old tub got wayyyy too small- wayyy too quick! A few tub toys and viola! We have a blast! Then there is bedtime and naptime wh...

As January Comes to a Close

So maybe this will be an everyother week occurance, I don't know. But I do know that Connor is becoming quite the big boy! We had his 6 month check-up and he weighed in at 17lb 9oz and 26.5-27in long (he was quite the wiggle worm). He looks wonderful and is the 60 percentile for weight and 40 percentile for height. The doctor is very pleased with Connor as a whole. Although I am not pleased with the hospital but that is for another blog altogether! Connor had his first tooth pop through. It was a bottom front tooth. We had been paying so much attention to those crazy molars  (yes they are still at the surface but won't budge through at all). One day Kyle's finger was pulled into Connor's mouth and he felt something sharp. The next day he pulled my finger into his mouth and I felt it. So I pryed his mouth open and TADA a tiny top of a pearly white tooth! It is very slowly coming in so once you can see some of the tooth I will be sure to post the picture! Aside fr...

I was 14 weeks pregnant with the little boy who is rolling and "crawling" on the floor behind me. Holy cow, what a difference a year makes. My new years resolution was to keep up to date with Blogger... I guess I can say better late than never right?! I guess I got a little push in the behind from my sister, Jen. She invited me to be a contributor to her blog The Nifty Thrifty Lady. I am in charge of checking and announcing online shopping deals. So now, I have no excuse not to update everyone about the Reese's life to. I mean I am already on the website, why not make a quick pit stop here. Anyways, here is our very abreviated update: Well, as it is, I haven't updated since October. OOps.  So the 18th October brought my dad's birthday but also the birthday of my second nephew, Colton James Ward. Of course, I couldn't be with my family to meet the little guy because we are in Florida. It was a bittersweet moment. My sister's family was complete and I ...
