From Baby Kicks to Toddler Tantrums

This is my daily life. Toddler tantrums have taken over this past week and I am slowly losing my patience with these "Terrible Two's" even though we have 3.5 months until we turn TWO! When we went to Connor's 18 month check up the doctor said he entered them early. Yippee. So they should leave early too, right?! I can only hope. As I type this my child is screaming bloody murder down the hall because he doesn't want to nap. Of course, he doesn't even though he slept like crap and woke up at 5:45 this morning. But then we get those moments of "let-me-scream-like-someone-is-murdering-me" out of the way and he is sweet and cuddly. And all in that time I forget that there is a tiny human growing in my belly because she is so mellow. LISTEN little one---- don't lose that mellowness. This mama begs of you to please not lose the calm disposition you already have in utero. Although she is strong, she kicks like her brother did when he was playing ninja in my belly.

Enough about that and on to realizing that in 19 weeks-ish we will have another baby in the house. I even came to the realization that Connor came a week and a half early so this could mean this one will be here in less than 19 weeks OR she could really enjoy the quiet and warmth of my tummy and stay longer. Who knows, but I do know that I am so unprepared this time that it's not funny. Here is what I HAVE done:

1. Boys clothes have been gone through and I kept the gender neutral/girly looking outfits.
2. Sold a few outfits and used that money to start her own wardrobe.
3. Bought a used Joovy Double Stroller in excellent used condition. LOVE IT!
4. Crocheted 2 headbands and started on a cocoon blanket.

What I haven't done:
1. Realized this little lady needs a nursery (oops)
2. Started on the nursery
3. OR thought about anything else really baby related.

Yeah, at 21 weeks we had Connor's nursery finished, I had my baby shower and we were just sitting and waiting on the little guy to come. I always thought people lied about the second child preparedness. I apologize. I finally am feeling 95% back to par. I am still so tired during the day, my feet swell like nobody's business and the nausea seems to hit me in the evenings again. Things I didn't deal with during Connor's pregnancy. I barely felt pregnant during his, I was moving and grooving right along from 14 weeks until about 34 weeks. This is getting long, my rambling is seriously terrible today.

Anywho, other happenings- We are slowly working on upgrading the kitchen appliances. I am in love with the stainless steel fridge we got and last night our dishwasher showed up. Those are the only two appliances for now. Over the next 2 years we plan on upgrading the stove top and the wall oven. But those can wait as they are not leaking water and shitty to say the least.

We are anxious for vacation. Next week we leave for a week long vacation to the Gulf Coast. I am ill prepared for that as well. One day when the kids are grown I will be prepared again ;-). Until then, bare with me.

When we return it will be serious business with getting Emilee's nursery done and working on organizing our room and decorating Connor's room. I never got around to that when I transitioned his room from the big room to the small room. Baseball items I HAD to have are getting put back to use. And hopefully Daddy doesn't mind doing a little switcheroo of the fans again ;-). I love you honey!

As my child has fallen silent in his room, I anticipate he has decided a nap isn't such a terrible idea and I can conclude this long, drawn out post with the 21 week update.

21 weeks:

How far along: 21 weeks
Total weight gain: 10 lbs
Maternity clothes: I gave up on fitting into the pants, they still work but the maternity are just so comfy.
Sleep: I want you all the time!
Food Cravings: McDonald's Breakfast (if it weren't 11am I would go get it right now!)
Gender: GIRL!
Belly button in or out: Out
Wedding rings on or off: On
Movement: Kicks are getting stronger and if Emilee wasn't so darn stubborn when we put our hand there, Daddy would feel!

There probably won't be an update again for 3 weeks. So here are my well wishes until the next time I post! It'll be godzilla long, I PROMISE ;-)

"This should be interesting..."

After getting both kids to bed (before 8pm mind you!) I have finally had time to sit down and decompress. My morning started out with Emilee stirring in her crib around 4am. I quickly grabbed her and put her in our bed to fall back asleep as she normally does. She started stirring around again at 6am which was my cue to get out of bed and get dressed and ready to leave for her eye appointment. I woke up with that "this should be an interesting day" feeling and low and behold, it was. It was 6:55 when I realized that our wonderful sitter hadn't arrived yet. She is never late, even the one time she thought she was going to be late she was still five minutes early. So when she wasn't here at 7, my mind went crazy. Was she in an accident, had something happened with her family... the list went on with the craziness of Philly news. I sent a text at 7:05 and nothing. I finally switched from worried mom mode to get-in-the-damn-car mode to make the appointment on time. (I...

I am One Month!

Wow how time really flies! Things were so hectic at the end of the pregnancy that I realized I never kept you updated. Birth Story: Well, long story short on 22 July at 10am my water broke. I called L & D and they said to come on in to get monitored and to check the fluid levels etc. Kyle and I thought maybe we weren't really going to be admitted (you know maybe I had had an accident haha). We decided to do the trip to the hospital as a trial run. We got what was left of our bags packed, loaded up the car and stopped at Wendy's for some Chicken Nuggets. (I wanted to make sure I ate something in case I was really in labor and wouldn't get food for a while (Smart thinking on our part!).) So we arrive, they do some awesome monitoring and evaluation and sure enough there was a water leak! They said I would have 24 hours to deliver otherwise they would have to do a c-section. Well for those of you who are reading this and know me, I was scared of getting a c-section (as...

Weeks 23 and 24

Once again things got pretty busy and I did not update for week 23. This is mainly because my sister, brother in-law and nephew came for a visit! It was a great week full of food, Blue Angel Practice Show, Exploreum, putt putt golfing, some shopping and so much more! It was a great opportunity for Kyle and me to be tourists in the town we live in. All in all it was awesome to spend time with the family and show them around. 23 weeks was rather uneventful in terms of Connor. We did have a doctors appointment last Monday and the doctor wrote me a prescription for Nexium for the AWFUL acid reflux that I was having. Now I can enjoy food again without the terrible burning sensations. He also told us that the 20 week ultrasound showed a nice healthy baby with "no gross abnormalities". I could finally sigh in relief knowing that the ultrasound came back great. Now to actually see Connor and check for all 10 fingers and toes! Otherwise he is kicking and hitting up a storm. Kyle was...
