21 and 22 week update...

Sorry guys, no catchy title for this blog. I was thinking "Time keeps on slipping, slipping, slipping, into the future..." considering I don't quite know where time has gone. Today marks the 22 week mark which means only 18 weeks left to go! As promised I will add an update from 21 weeks and catch you up with this week.

For my 21 week mark, I was happily vacationing in Maryland with my family. It was wonderful to see so many people and actually get to spend time with them considering the last few trips home were so short. The week long trip was filled with shopping for Connor, watching some good television and the Baby shower!! It was a rather relaxing trip and I really enjoyed it! The flight back to Maryland went well, other than Connor kicking my lovely bladder non-stop. The flight back home was rather exhausting considering the first flight had a 40 minute weather delay where we were stuck on the plane and weren't allowed to take off. Then made it safely to the layover and finally back home. I was so excited to go get my puppy from the vet's office I could barely contain myself! He had an awesome stay and the vet techs all said he is a HUGE puppy still at almost 11 months old. That's my boy :-).  Anyways, the baby shower was a fun time thanks to my awesome sister. Who, I am sure by now everyone knows, is expecting her own little bundle of joy in October. Connor will not only have 1 cousin who is 6 years old, but another that will be 3 months younger!! We are so happy for both Jen and Jeff and Chris! We wish you a happy and healthy 9 months! Anyways, the baby shower, Connor got some awesome gifts through the mail already including the crib set from grandma and grandad, the play pen with a napper and changing table, a Redskins onesie, and matress pad from Aunt Tammy, Aunt Theresa, Grandma Hilda, Sherri, Kayla and Laura. Some really adorable outfits, books and the diaper bag from Aunt Katie and Uncle Nick. An Etown onsie, a humidifier, a curious george book and a Goldfish snack container from Aunt Melissa and Aunt Meredith. The stroller and carseat from Grandma Linda. Then some "lighter" gifts from so many other awesome family and friends. I want to say thank you all so much for coming and taking time out of your Friday evening. I loved seeing you all and I had a really nice time.

So now I hit 22 weeks... This week is going to be an awesome one! My lovely husband was approved for leave starting this Friday and therefore will be home on Friday night! I cannot wait, this week long leave will be the longest that I have seen him in the last 3 months and my excitement cannot be contained. Seriously, nothing this week can make me angry (okay well maybe a few things but still).  Then late Saturday night or early Sunday morning Jen, Jeff and Chris will be here to visit! We were supposed to go to Orlando for a week long vacation but now with TWO babies on the way we decided to hold off and just show them around Pensacola. Which will be awesome anyways and way more relaxing for all parties involved!! We have so many things planned for next week that it'll be tiring but we can always say let's just go to the beach instead! haha. I do have a doctor's appointment on Monday, just a check-up and to give me the results from the 20 week anatomy scan. *Fingers are crossed for good news* and thankfully Kyle will be home to go along!! Also, our Saturday is going to be filled with shopping for Connor- we cannot wait to go get some of the essential items he needs and on top of that to get some fun stuff too. Although, we do know that for the first weeks there won't be much fun stuff needed, we still want to get some things while we have the time together.

Okay, this is getting long enough. Moral of the two weeks- things were awesome and will continute to get better. My favorite moment in the next week will definitely being able to have Kyle feel a kick from Connor. I have been feeling him from the outside for the past 3 weeks and I have been waiting for Kyle to come home so he can feel it too!!

Of course here is the picture from my 22nd week... Until next Tuesday morning- have a good week!!

"This should be interesting..."

After getting both kids to bed (before 8pm mind you!) I have finally had time to sit down and decompress. My morning started out with Emilee stirring in her crib around 4am. I quickly grabbed her and put her in our bed to fall back asleep as she normally does. She started stirring around again at 6am which was my cue to get out of bed and get dressed and ready to leave for her eye appointment. I woke up with that "this should be an interesting day" feeling and low and behold, it was. It was 6:55 when I realized that our wonderful sitter hadn't arrived yet. She is never late, even the one time she thought she was going to be late she was still five minutes early. So when she wasn't here at 7, my mind went crazy. Was she in an accident, had something happened with her family... the list went on with the craziness of Philly news. I sent a text at 7:05 and nothing. I finally switched from worried mom mode to get-in-the-damn-car mode to make the appointment on time. (I...

I am One Month!

Wow how time really flies! Things were so hectic at the end of the pregnancy that I realized I never kept you updated. Birth Story: Well, long story short on 22 July at 10am my water broke. I called L & D and they said to come on in to get monitored and to check the fluid levels etc. Kyle and I thought maybe we weren't really going to be admitted (you know maybe I had had an accident haha). We decided to do the trip to the hospital as a trial run. We got what was left of our bags packed, loaded up the car and stopped at Wendy's for some Chicken Nuggets. (I wanted to make sure I ate something in case I was really in labor and wouldn't get food for a while (Smart thinking on our part!).) So we arrive, they do some awesome monitoring and evaluation and sure enough there was a water leak! They said I would have 24 hours to deliver otherwise they would have to do a c-section. Well for those of you who are reading this and know me, I was scared of getting a c-section (as...

Weeks 23 and 24

Once again things got pretty busy and I did not update for week 23. This is mainly because my sister, brother in-law and nephew came for a visit! It was a great week full of food, Blue Angel Practice Show, Exploreum, putt putt golfing, some shopping and so much more! It was a great opportunity for Kyle and me to be tourists in the town we live in. All in all it was awesome to spend time with the family and show them around. 23 weeks was rather uneventful in terms of Connor. We did have a doctors appointment last Monday and the doctor wrote me a prescription for Nexium for the AWFUL acid reflux that I was having. Now I can enjoy food again without the terrible burning sensations. He also told us that the 20 week ultrasound showed a nice healthy baby with "no gross abnormalities". I could finally sigh in relief knowing that the ultrasound came back great. Now to actually see Connor and check for all 10 fingers and toes! Otherwise he is kicking and hitting up a storm. Kyle was...
