Connor's Daily Play Time (video's included)

As Connor has grown, he has had more awake time. During this "awake time" we sing, dance, read, or play on our mat, in our crib or with food (thanks DADDY). Anyways, please enjoy the next few minutes of home videos (Connor playing on his activity mat, playing the piano in his crib, and tasting a lemon). I will of course update with my long, drawn out detail of our lives later this month. But these videos were too cute not to share. ENJOY!

The Goo's and The Gaa's

Well two months old for Connor means smiles and giggles, laughs and strange noises. He has officially learned what the social smile is. When daddy or mommy smile, laugh or talk to Connor you can't wipe the smile off his face. He loves to get his belly tickled, attacks of kisses, sticking out his tongue and throwing up on daddy.  Connor still takes multiple naps throughout the day. Normally a nice long one in the morning, then some small catnaps through the day and a long one in the evening. Finally settling into sleep at about 8pm. Normally he will stay asleep on mommy or daddy's chest until we go to bed which requires an additional feeding at around 10pm and sleeping until he wakes up. For three days in a row he slept from 10:30-4:30, back to sleep until 6:30. Then last night it was 10:30-2:30, back to sleep until 6:30. No matter what, it has been a dream getting 8 hours of sleep no matter when Mommy wakes up. Connor also love going outside. He has been to the beach this month...

I am One Month!

Wow how time really flies! Things were so hectic at the end of the pregnancy that I realized I never kept you updated. Birth Story: Well, long story short on 22 July at 10am my water broke. I called L & D and they said to come on in to get monitored and to check the fluid levels etc. Kyle and I thought maybe we weren't really going to be admitted (you know maybe I had had an accident haha). We decided to do the trip to the hospital as a trial run. We got what was left of our bags packed, loaded up the car and stopped at Wendy's for some Chicken Nuggets. (I wanted to make sure I ate something in case I was really in labor and wouldn't get food for a while (Smart thinking on our part!).) So we arrive, they do some awesome monitoring and evaluation and sure enough there was a water leak! They said I would have 24 hours to deliver otherwise they would have to do a c-section. Well for those of you who are reading this and know me, I was scared of getting a c-section (as...

Goodbye 2nd Trimester... Hello 3rd Trimester!

So as usual I have fallen behind in my blog posting. Well not much has really happened in these last couple of weeks. Well other than the growing baby in my belly! Let's see, the recent doctor's appontments have gone fine. I passed my glucose test with "Flying colors" and I do not have anemia during this pregnancy (I am just tired because Connor is stealing my energy.) I feel Connor kicking and punching and moving around so much these last few weeks. At times Kyle said it looks as if Connor is playing the Congo Drums in my belly. Hmmmm.... Oh recent cravings, Root Beer again. I drove to Sonic 2 times last week just to get a Root Beer with some awesome crushed ice. I also started experiencing Braxton Hicks. Whooooo. Not fun. I freaked out for a while because I thought that something was wrong. Nope. Doctor said that is totally normal and that I will likely experience them more now that I am in my 3rd Trimester. Yipee. At least my body is getting ready for the "b...

Weeks 23 and 24

Once again things got pretty busy and I did not update for week 23. This is mainly because my sister, brother in-law and nephew came for a visit! It was a great week full of food, Blue Angel Practice Show, Exploreum, putt putt golfing, some shopping and so much more! It was a great opportunity for Kyle and me to be tourists in the town we live in. All in all it was awesome to spend time with the family and show them around. 23 weeks was rather uneventful in terms of Connor. We did have a doctors appointment last Monday and the doctor wrote me a prescription for Nexium for the AWFUL acid reflux that I was having. Now I can enjoy food again without the terrible burning sensations. He also told us that the 20 week ultrasound showed a nice healthy baby with "no gross abnormalities". I could finally sigh in relief knowing that the ultrasound came back great. Now to actually see Connor and check for all 10 fingers and toes! Otherwise he is kicking and hitting up a storm. Kyle was...

21 and 22 week update...

Sorry guys, no catchy title for this blog. I was thinking "Time keeps on slipping, slipping, slipping, into the future..." considering I don't quite know where time has gone. Today marks the 22 week mark which means only 18 weeks left to go! As promised I will add an update from 21 weeks and catch you up with this week. For my 21 week mark, I was happily vacationing in Maryland with my family. It was wonderful to see so many people and actually get to spend time with them considering the last few trips home were so short. The week long trip was filled with shopping for Connor, watching some good television and the Baby shower!! It was a rather relaxing trip and I really enjoyed it! The flight back to Maryland went well, other than Connor kicking my lovely bladder non-stop. The flight back home was rather exhausting considering the first flight had a 40 minute weather delay where we were stuck on the plane and weren't allowed to take off. Then made it safely to the l...

We're Halfway Thereeee.... WHOAAAA!

When I think about 20 weeks, I think about the song by Bon Jovi. Needless to say all day I have been singing this tune in my head! Connor might come out singing this song! Well since last week: 1. Connor's crib set has arrived and 2/3 of it has been assembled. Also added in the nursery is the valance that I created and some store bought curtains. We ended up purchasing them due to the "blackout" effect so the baby can sleep better during they day time and also because of noise reduction. 2. My belly hasn't changed too much other than when I lay down. It sticks out a lot more. 3. Anatomy scan was today! It went really well. Connor cooperated with the technician in getting all the pictures she needed. He was being a little stubborn though with a picture of the nose and lips. Definitely Daddy's nose and Mommy's lips! I wish the pictures were 3D though so we could get a better prediction of his looks. But I guess that is all part of the surprise in July! Of ...

Busy as a Bee!

The title says it all for both Connor and I! This past week has been so BUSY! Over the weekend my father in-law and brother in-law visited Kyle and I. It was a blast! Full of such wonderful food that when I got my weight checked this week I had gained quite a few pounds. We ate at McGuire's on Saturday night, and of course if you have been to Pensacola you know you can't leave there without a Root Beer Float! We ate at Oyster Bar for lunch on Saturday and the Shrimp was Phenomenal! Friday night Kyle and I fixed steaks with some yummy sides. On Thursday night we ate at Hopjacks- a WONDERFUL pizzaria/bar with a friend from OCS who is attending flight school down here. As you can tell- food seems to be my big focus these days- luckily at my "20 week check-up" which is really my "19 week check-up" my weight was right on track! So speaking of the check-up, everything went lovely! Connor's heart rate was steady at 156 bpm. For once he was holding still so we...

Oh BOY!

Well, it seems that I negelected to update on 17 weeks. So much has been going on these last two weeks, other than the growing belly, I feel like I am still at 16 weeks! But, indeed, I am not. My 17th week of pregnancy was not too exciting other than a doctor's appointment with a specialist. My family has a history of blood clots and a clotting disorder- lucky me, I have the trait. For this reason, my doctor wanted a second opinion on a treatment method since he didn't know much about this trait. Well the appointment couldn't have gone better! The doctor was amazing and thorough and said I needed to be monitored during pregnancy and delivery, but otherwise I should have a happy and healthy pregnancy. I literally couldn't stop smiling all day. Then he let me hear Connor's heartbeat. Strong and steady in the 150's. Oh, so if you haven't figured out- WE ARE HAVING A BOY! Kyle was feeling pretty upset that he wouldn't have been at the appointment to find o...

16 weeks, Valentine's Day and so much more!

I normally update on the day I change weeks, but I have been *or felt* rather busy. First and foremost, I have finally been able to schedule my lovely appointments for the month of March. A general OB appointment on 5 March and then the BIG Ultrasound on the 14 March! We are so anxious to find out if this is a boy or girl growing like a weed!  Second, I know I said at like 13.5 weeks that I felt like I popped... HAHA- I am pretty sure that that was just my "fat roll" as I so lovingly call it. Those round ligament pains were pretty wicked then, but on Monday and Tuesday I felt like my stomach was a rubber band. Attempting to stretch but ready to BREAK! I woke up on Tuesday with a rather round lower abdomen. Now with my belly exposed it looks more like a pregnant belly! Since Kyle isn't home, I try to send him pictures or if the internet is okay, Skype. Although I have realized that these do not do the belly justice. Camera's add the extra poundage to your behind and b...

Short update BECAUSE...

This will be a very short update just because tomorrow is my appointment- FINALLY! I got most of my energy back and the house is finally back in order. Not much to update other than my anxiousness to get today over with so I can have my appointment tomorrow. I have heard that they will likely only check the heartbeat and all the other "check-up" procedures and then schedule me for the ultrasound. I am hoping to convince the doctor to do one in the office tomorrow because I haven't seen the baby in SIX weeks! I bet it is huge compared to then! Anyways, I have been feeling "tiny" little flutters. It's in the evenings after work and I am crashed out on the couch. It's always the same area and feels like a butterfly is tickling my belly (from the inside of course). Although this morning I didn't want to crawl out of bed and accidentally rolled onto my tummy, I felt two little "popcorn" flicks. I think the baby was crammed in there- HAHAHA. Anyw...

14 Weeks...

Tuesday's are always my favorite days because it marks one more week closer to meeting the Reese's Cup. The updates on my phone brighten my morning slightly more. So, this is the 14 week mark. I cannot believe how fast the time is going by. I have my next appointment next week and I cannot wait. I am seriously just biting at the bit waiting for it. 8 more days until I get to hear the heartbeat, maybe get a sneak peak at the more developed "cup" and even an idea of gender?! Who knows. All I know is that I am so anxious it is going to drive me insane! Anyway's, other than having back some insane amount of energy (although it is still less than pre-pregnancy) nothing new. I had a few night's where I was sick but I genuinely think that is due to a stomach virus, considering my nights have been fine since. Who really knows... In other news, today was the last time in the next 5.5 months that my husband will likely see the "smaller" me. The next time h...

Helllooooo Second Trimester (and bump).

Today marks 13 weeks! YAY! I feel like I can finally enjoy this pregnancy and not worry AS much. Although most of you know that I am a complete and total worry-wart. Anyways, at 12 weeks 3 days I noticed my bump (very tiny) popped out some. I waited about 2 days to make sure this was indeed my bump and not just bloating. And at 12 weeks 5 days it was a small round bump VERY low in my tummy. We are both convinced this is a boy because of how low this bump is sitting, but we will see **hopefully** in the next month or two! But the awesome part of today is that I finally finished the baby's first blanket and the matching pillow!! After a trip to the hospital one week ago because of a sewing machine accident, I successfully finished the pillow and the blanket in a week which seems like a record for me. Okay, enough of me blabbering on... here are the pictures of my completed sewing projects!

12 weeks!

Today is 12 weeks! They consider this the safe zone so let's pray everything goes according to plan from here on out! My 12 week present was scheduling the next OB appointment which is both very exciting and anxiety provoking. My appointment is scheduled for the 8 February. Some of you have pointed out that we have started the nursery very early- to clear this up some we are trying to get as much done now because of the next 6 months Kyle will only be here for about 2.5 of them thanks to the Coast Guard. So we wanted to get some of the decorating finished and plan out the registry, the crib and furniture now so that there is time later to just relax with each other before the baby is born. Anyways, I am just thankful that there have been no complications thus far with the pregnancy and we are praying for a smooth 6 months to come! I am also waiting on that bigger bump ;). (The top photo is 8 weeks, 5 days. The bottom photo is today: 12 weeks- excuse the messy bed, Rango LOVES teari...

What a weekend!

So of course I am jumping right in with what Kyle and I did this weekend. Saturday afternoon we were being extraordinarily lazy and chilling on the couch watching "Design on a Dime". In the past couple of weeks we have have been contemplating whether to have a gender neutral room even though we plan on finding out the sex of the baby. We had decided, a week or so ago, that it would be monkey's for a boy and frogs for a girl. The color pallat for both was dark brown and a lime green. On Saturday we finally decided that we could just do a zoo theme for boy or girl and keep the color pallat the same. So, being the handy dandy- creative couple we are, we sat brainstorming ideas and adding to the baby registry. I forgot completely that I did not add a book shelf- AND THEN IT HIT ME! Let's do a project and turn one of our old bookshelfs that was collecting dust in the garage into a bookshelf for the baby's room. We went over ideas and settled with painting it dark choco...
